How the Special Needs ESA works
Montana's Special Needs ESA serves students with IDEA-qualifying disabilities. Awards average approximately $6,600 and are reimbursed by the Office of Public Instruction rather than paid through a wallet platform. Application windows run May 1 to June 1 and November 1 to December 1 at opi.mt.gov. Please note: a court ruled the program's funding mechanism unconstitutional in late 2025. The state is appealing, and availability for 2026–27 is uncertain, so check the OPI page before planning around these funds.
Montana reimburses documented expenses, so you can pay for Aristotle directly and submit for reimbursement. Fill out the form below and we will prepare the paperwork.
