Aristotle Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how JSV AI Inc. (d/b/a Aristotle) (“Aristotle,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you access or use our websites, including those located at https://www.app.heyaristotle.com and at https://www.heyaristotle.com, and the artificial intelligence (“AI”) tutoring services made available through them (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.
This is a consumer privacy policy. If a school or district provides access to the Services, a separate agreement or addendum may apply.

1. Age Restriction

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or access our Services or otherwise provide us with personal information. Parents and guardians should monitor their children’s online activity and instruct them not to share personal information without permission. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us as described in Section 9 so we can delete it.

2. Information we collect

We may collect the following information about you, either because you provide it to us, it is directly necessary to provide our services, or because it helps us improve and secure the Services. We may use this information for the purposes described below and, where applicable, to comply with legal obligations, enforce our agreements, protect our rights and the rights of others, and in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, or other corporate transaction involving all or part of our business.

2.1 Information you provide.

The following categories of personal information are collected directly from you or on your behalf when you create or manage an account, set up or update a Student Profile, participate in tutoring sessions, make payments, contact us for support, or complete consent verification processes where applicable:

Account and profile information

  • We collect account and profile information, such as Parent Account Holder information and student account or Student Profile information. Parent Account Holder information may include name, email address, password or SSO credentials, and contact preferences. Student account or Student Profile information may include nickname or first name, grade level, subjects, learning preferences, and information associated with the student’s use of the Services. We use this information to create and manage accounts and Student Profiles, authenticate users, personalize tutoring experiences, maintain learning progress, communicate with you (including to send transactional and service-related communications and, for Parent Account Holders, marketing or re-engagement communications where appropriate), and protect against unauthorized access or misuse.

Tutoring session information

  • We collect session inputs and interactions (such as audio recording during live sessions, text prompts, whiteboard drawings, and uploaded materials if enabled), as well as session outputs (such as responses, hints, explanations), transcripts, and session artifacts (for example, whiteboard snapshots). We use this information to deliver real-time tutoring, generate responses, maintain session history, personalize learning experiences, improve tutoring quality and safety systems, debug and enhance performance, develop new features, and develop and improve our artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.
  • Audio recordings are processed only when you activate voice features. We do not intentionally record or monitor individuals other than the user participating in the tutoring session. If you choose to record, transmit, or allow the voices or personal information of any third party (for example, another person present in the room) to be captured or processed through the Services, you represent and warrant that you have obtained all rights, consents, and permissions required under applicable law to do so.

Payment information

  • We collect billing name, billing address, and payment method details processed by a payment provider (typically tokens and limited billing metadata rather than full card numbers). We use this information to process payments, manage subscriptions, maintain billing records, detect and prevent fraud, and comply with accounting and tax obligations.

Support and communications

  • We collect emails and messages you send to us, along with our responses. We use this information to provide customer support, respond to inquiries, investigate issues, enforce our Terms and safety policies, and improve the Services.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Log and Usage Data

  • We collect information such as IP address, device identifiers, browser type, timestamps, and crash logs. We use this information to maintain security, detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized access, diagnose technical issues, enforce our Terms, and improve the reliability and performance of the Services.

Cookies and other Tracking Technologies

  • We use cookies, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies to collect information about your interactions with the Services. We use these technologies for essential site functionality (such as enabling core features and security), preferences and login (such as remembering settings and maintaining sessions), and analytics and performance measurement (such as understanding usage patterns, measuring engagement, assessing advertising effectiveness, and improving reliability). These technologies may collect information such as IP address, device identifiers, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, and interaction data. We do not knowingly use personal information of users under 18 for targeted advertising.

2.3 Information from third parties

Authentication providers

  • If you use third-party sign-in services (such as Google or Apple), we receive authentication information from those providers. We use this information to verify your identity, facilitate account access, and manage account security.

Advertising and analytics partners

  • We may receive aggregated campaign performance metrics from advertising and analytics partners and tools. We use this information to measure marketing effectiveness, understand general user engagement trends, and improve our outreach strategies.

2.4 De-Identified and Aggregated Data

We may create and use de-identified and aggregated data derived from use of the Services for analytics, research, and product improvement. We will not attempt to re-identify de-identified data except as permitted by law (for example, to validate de-identification, detect fraud, or comply with legal requirements).

3. How We Share Your Information

We disclose your personal information with the following categories of third parties for the purposes described below. We do not sell personal information for monetary value.
  • Vendors, consultants, and service providers. We may share personal information with third-party service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as cloud hosting and infrastructure (e.g., Amazon Web Services); database hosting and storage (e.g., Supabase); speech processing providers (e.g., Google Gemini API); AI inference or model providers (e.g., OpenAI API); real-time communications (e.g., LiveKit); analytics, session replay, and error monitoring providers (e.g., PostHog, Sentry); email delivery and marketing communications providers (e.g., Resend); payment processors (e.g., Stripe); customer support tools; and other operational support services. We share such information only as necessary to provide the Services you request, operate and improve the Services, comply with our legal obligations, and maintain the security and integrity of our systems and prevent fraud or abuse. They may access personal information only to perform services on our behalf and are required to protect it.
  • Advertising Partners. We permit advertising partners, including Meta (via Meta Pixel), to set cookies and similar tracking technologies on portions of our Servicesas described in Section 2.2. Through these technologies, such partners may collect personal information such as IP address, device identifiers, and cookie identifiers for advertising, analytics, measurement, and campaign performance purposes, including to assess the effectiveness of our advertising. We do not knowingly disclose personal information of users under 18 for targeted advertising. Under the laws of certain U.S. states, this may constitute "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. For information on how to opt out of such sharing, see Section 4.
  • With your direction or consent. We share personal information with third parties when you request or direct us to do so, or when you otherwise provide your affirmative consent.
  • De-identified and aggregated information. We may share de-identified or aggregated information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you for analytics, research, and product improvement.
We reserve the right to share your personal information in the future, subject to the terms of this policy, as follows:
  • With government authorities, law enforcement agencies, or our legal counsel to comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any valid government or regulatory request;
  • To enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes;
  • If we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of Aristotle, our customers, or others; or
  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets.

4. Your rights and choices

  • Account access and deletion: You can access, correct, or delete information, or delete your account, through account settings (if available) or by contacting founders@heyaristotle.com.
  • Email Marketing Communications. You may opt out of receiving marketing emails at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included in the email or by contacting us as described in Section 9. Please note that you may continue to receive transactional or service-related communications.
  • Opt Out of Sharing or Targeted Advertising. You may opt out of disclosures of personal information for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising by using the privacy controls or cookie consent tools made available on the Services, by enabling a recognized universal opt-out preference signal in your browser or device, or by contacting us at founders@heyaristotle.com.
  • Do Not Track and Universal Opt-Out Preference Signals. Some web browsers may transmit “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) signals to Services. At this time, we do not respond to DNT signals because there is no uniform industry standard governing their interpretation. Separately, we honor universal opt-out preference signals, such as browser- or device-based mechanisms that communicate your choice to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale or sharing of personal information, or certain profiling activities, where we are able to recognize and process the signal.
  • Appeal Process for Denied Requests. If we decline to take action on your request, you may appeal our decision by emailing founders@heyaristotle.com with the subject line “Privacy Rights Appeal” and describing your request and our response. We will respond to your appeal in writing within 45 days, and we may extend this period where permitted by law if reasonably necessary (in which case we will inform you of the extension and the reason for it). If we deny your appeal, we will provide information on other options that may be available to you (which may include contacting your state Attorney General or other regulator, depending on your location).

5. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to provide and maintain the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We do not store raw audio recordings. Transcripts, whiteboard artifacts, learning profile data, and similar account-related information are retained while the account is active and are deleted or de-identified after account deletion, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. We may retain and use aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information indefinitely, provided that it does not identify you and is not reasonably capable of being used to identify you.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, such as encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Additional U.S. State Privacy Rights

Depending on your place of residence, you may have certain rights regarding how we collect, use, and share your personal information under applicable U.S. state privacy laws. These rights may be subject to limitations or exceptions, and not all rights may apply in every circumstance.
Subject to applicable law, these rights may include:
  • The right to confirm whether we process your personal information and to access such personal information.
  • The right to request correction of inaccuracies in your personal information.

  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, as defined under applicable law.

  • The right to designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, where permitted by law.
