Product Management Intern

San Francisco • Summer 2027 • In-person

Own a critical 0→1 product problem from research through launch.

The Role

Product managers at Aristotle do not sit in a corner writing specs. Over twelve weeks in San Francisco, you will own a single problem from the first confused customer conversation to a tested, shipped solution. You will watch real tutoring sessions, synthesize what students and parents actually need, write specs that engineers can build from, and run pilots to see if your bet was right. We are a small team, so you will sit next to the founders, engineers, and tutors. The pace is fast, the feedback is direct, and the work ends up in front of real users.

What you'll do

  • Talk to students, parents, and tutors to understand where the product is working and where it is failing.
  • Define one clear 0→1 problem, pick a success metric, and write a short spec that the team can review in hours, not days.
  • Build lightweight experiments and pilots to validate assumptions before we commit engineering time.
  • Present findings to the team, including what you would do next if you had another month.

What we're looking for

You should have experience building something: at a previous internship, a student club, a side project, or a startup. You should be comfortable with messy data, half-formed ideas, and the fact that your first draft will be wrong. We want people who ask sharp questions, write clearly, and can make a decision with incomplete information. Some exposure to SQL, analytics, or AI tools helps, but we care more about your judgment and your willingness to ship.

Why this matters

AI products are easy to prototype and hard to get right. The difference is usually someone in the room who actually understands the user. If you do this well, you will leave the internship with a real feature or process in production and a clear story about how you made it better. That is what product work looks like here.
